Course Description:
Social Studies 10-1/20-1 AP + European History 35
This accelerated, year-long program integrates Social Studies 10-1 and 20-1 curricula with the rigorous, college-level AP European History course.
In the first semester, students explore the foundations of globalization (10-1), tracing how the Renaissance, the Age of Discovery, and the Industrial Revolution connected the world and shaped our modern global economy. In the second semester, the focus shifts to the evolution of the nation-state (20-1), examining the rise of nationalism, the impact of the French Revolution, and the world-shaping conflicts of the 20th century. This course prepares students for the AP European History Exam in May, which can earn them university credit, while simultaneously completing all requirements for Alberta Social 10-1 and 20-1.
