Course Description:
Fashion and Textile Arts 30
Course material is designed to be sequential to the curricular scope and sequences chosen and completed by the student. Students will develop expertise in fashion, preparing them for a possible career in the industry. Students will construct an upper body garment and will have the opportunity to create a variety of projects such as tailored garments, couture fashions, costuming, wearable art, cultural fashions, outdoor clothing, textile arts, fashion retailing and/or their own graduation clothes or gown. Students will continue developing their Fashion Illustration portfolio. There are more advanced modules that are available which can be discussed with the instructor. Students who demonstrate advanced skills could have the opportunity to compete for a spot in provincial skills competitions.
